Officer Secondary College is an mess.

Teachers here are unqualified, lazy and extremely disrespectful. There are some kind and great staff but the majority don’t care about neither student wellbeing nor education. At Officer, staff members belittle and bully the students and discriminate.

It’s not only the staff but students as well. Students at officer have little respect for teacher (which makes sense regarding the circumstances at the school) but also other students fights are a regular occurance and bullying is common.

The facilities themselves are disgraceful; half the equipment is broken and the other half are unclean or not allowed to be use by students.

I will say it once and once only: you are better off sending your child to ANY other school because Officer Secondary College is a disgusting excuse for a school.

Bringing your child here is a death wish to their teen and adulthood. Multiple cases of suicidal attempts, bullying and improper use of power by the staff comes from this very school. It’s never cleaned properly, only once a week as leftovers build up on the schools floors where your children are expected to sit down and enjoy their ‘recess’. I say this in quotation marks because their happiness of finally having a break after dealing with gruelling teachers who give out detentions for the littlest things (sometimes which are the teacher’s fault!!) are met with school fights. Violent and brutal all in front of your child that this very school hides under a rug and refuses to contact parents about. Cruel students get away with everything, and it’s a bully or be bullied community in the halls of Officer Secondary College. Is this really a place you want to proudly say you take your children to?

Honestly this school really isn’t that good at all. Many of the teachers do not know how to discipline their students, it’s either too much or not enough. The classes are always loud and teachers are not doing enough to stop it. As a student, even I can hardly learn due to the fact that all the teacher’s attention is on making the students be quiet, even though it doesn’t do anything. A huge majority of the students are just incredibly rude and sending your kid here will either get them bullied or will make them a bully, no in-between. This school only cares about grades and attendance rather than mental health even if they say they do. If you are unable to complete work because you have a mental health issue, they barely care and expect it to be done. Nowadays so many teachers are leaving because the kids are so disrespectful. So many of my teachers are just not that good at teaching and me and other students are falling behind. The teachers only explain in the way that they want to and don’t do much to alter their teaching for specific students. I have been unable to understand mathematics for years due to the fact that teachers don’t help me understand. All the attention is on the popular kids and they all get free grades, because realistically they should have failed by now lol.. This school needs to improve on so much and even though they try and improve, it really doesn’t ever happen. So if you’re thinking about sending your kid here, don’t.

If you would like a school were they constantly have CRTs (sitters) or give your child a detention for wearing branded socks or talking to the person beside them in class, well this school is for you.

Break out in fights happens weekly but amazingly enough, parents aren’t notified. Yet we get notified for stupid thing!

And don’t forget all the uniform must has the school name on it or once again, your child will get a detention.

Teaching wise, I have no clue because my kids never seem to have the same teacher for their subjects!

This school looks good from the outside but the craziness inside the school system is just too much.
I really feel for any student who doesn’t fit the profile of a perfect student.

Very good experience with the school so far. The teachers are excellent and the communication is very good. Son is in the HAP class and always talks about how good and caring the teachers in this school are.
