Parents beware. This is more of a military facility than a school. During breakfast, an adult will stand over the children and tell them to eat without talking. Parents aren’t allowed to walk their children to their classrooms. “No child left behind,” haha, yeah right. I’m currently paying for a tutor to help my kindergartener read and write because his/her teacher is allowing him/her to fall behind (I know one other family doing the same). When I approached his/her teacher about my concerns regarding my child, the teacher said, “Correcting the children this young will discourage them from learning.” Now I know why America’s schools are failing! I approached the principal twice regarding this issue. Both times she said she would get back to me…I’m still waiting and it’s May!!! No tank tops, no sandals, not even a kindergarten graduation…I’m serious. Oh, and my child got written up for digging a hole in the sand box during recess. My children will NOT be attending the following year.
If you’re a parent with visible tattoos, don’t count on being asked to volunteer for field trips or school functions. They frown upon tattoos.
All of my children have and are attending this school. I have had very good and very bad experiences with this School since it’s inception in 2006-2007, but I have seen tremendous improvement and stability since Principle Maldonado has been there. The time they put into the programs that are offered, and the day to day book and hands on learning; for a public school, to me is one of the best in the area. I can attest that they care more about the child than the parent/administration relationship and to me that is most important. Not to mention the time that the parents come out to volunteer. There is such an overwhelming amount of parent support for the the teachers and the school to the point they have to limit chaperones on field trips. During special events hosted by the clubs or afterschool programs, I’ve seen parents standing around with no assigned detail because there are soo many. As you see I truly think this was the best start my kids could have received!
2 out of my 3 kids attended Eagle Springs Elementary. The third one is still attending. They definitely did a great job with all of them. I take the time to write this review because there are not enough good things I can say about this school. Principal, teachers and staff, care about every single child. It has been the best elementary school experience my kids could have received! Learning experience is above and beyond, with a great balance between computers and hands on. I simply love this school!
