If I could give 0 stars, it wouldn’t be low enough. I fought hard to get 2 of my children into Snowden. Before the school year ended, I fought 3 times as hard to get them out. The rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff is beyond admonishing. In any society, there will be bullies – especially amongst children. Unexpectedly, some teachers were bullies at Snowden! The physical safety, educational growth and mental well-being of my children were all being negatively impacted at Snowden, and the lack of communication from administration is definitely cause for concern. With only 3 months left in the school year, we found ourselves fighting to withdraw our children from Snowden School. Because of the lack of communication, we had to initiate formal proceedings through the district office just to address our concerns and remove our children from Snowden. In all my years of parenting, I’ve never had such a negative experience with a school. With such a capacity for greatness, seeing the opposite occur is truly disheartening. We (parents) cannot keep choosing to be blind and deaf in these situations. Listen actively, and investigate for the truth, then speak up and speak out. If nothing is said, nothing is done. If nothing is done, the problems not only continue, they grow.
I’ve long been a supporter of Snowden. Top notch admin and good quality teachers. It seems most of the negative reviews have been from Fox News quality citizens of Memphis. That is not a compliment. Uninformed and non-participating citizens who think teachers are supposed to have some sort of magic wand.
Snowden is a great school i been there since pre-k and now in the sixth grade and a cheerleader i adore this school most times once you start going its like you fall in love with the school and your classmates become family i also love my teacher Ms.Hopkins
