Holmes road elementary has got to be the worst school in the city. The teacher’s here don’t care they are there only for a check and its pretty obvious the kids learn absolutely nothing. The teachers and the whole staff are very unprofessional seem like they just hired anybody to work up in there. l can actually count on one hand how many decent people there that are working in the entire school. The worst part l think is when your kid is failing they blame you the parent, because it’s never them you’re the one at fault. They blame the child for failing not the school not the system everyone there just wants to cover they’re own hides. The principal there is one of the most uncaring, unprofessional, lacking no leadership skills person l have ever seen, he shouldn’t even be allowed to run a school period. The principle walks around that school like everyone supposed to be scared of him and he thinks he’s some god. He has all those teachers up there scared of him so he thinks you supposed to be too. The teachers there give parents dirty looks and they will fail your child due to the simple fact that they don’t like you. My sons second grade teacher was very cynical she only made little slick comments about my son and why he was failing just to take the blame off her by trying to shift the blame on me and him, but it’s quite strange that my son learned more and passed in a 20 day summer school class than he did in this teacher class in a whole year so that says alot about her teaching ability. I guess this teacher thinks because she’s old she can make lil slick comments and your not gonna pick up on it… but I’ve been on to her condescending nature for a long time. If your child happens to have an IEP don’t even waste your time sitting thru them, because you would just be wasting an hour of your life u can’t get back. The only purpose of the IEP meeting is to just find everything your doing wrong as a parent and again blame you and the child for the child doing poorly academically. Its never coming together to see what all we as parents and teachers can do to help this child nothing but a lot of slick comments and blaming. The principal if he sits in on your child’s iep meeting he acts like he really don’t wanna be there he has a lil nasty attitude and be having dirty looks on his face. And oh once you leave the iep meeting they do nothing, but talk about you and your child to everyone else… bad talk about you just because you won’t put your child on some medicine just to basically dope them up and teach them a bunch of lies and they learn nothing anyway so your child will just be a doped up, uneducated dummy in the long run if he/she is enrolled here or have an iep. Im so glad l took my kids outta this school it was the best thing l could have done for them and l hate l let them go there in the 1st place. This school doesn’t even deserve 1 star the only reason l gave it that so l could leave this review and that is sad. I really do hope this school is shut down or at least they get that principal and staff outta there and get a whole new one to start fresh, because this would be the only chance this school has.
I currently have a first grader attending Holmes Road Elem and so far I’m very disappointed. ..The students are only numbers…and the teachers really don’t care about the students…especially my child’s teacher…she’s young..and doesn’t have patience with them especially the ones who have IEP’s..on top of that she’s out the class at least three times outof the week..it’s always a different teacher there and to me it’s confusing the kids..to see a different teacher almost every week. ..I.don’t feel as if my kid is learning anything..she’s not…this teacher I will say “doesn’t care”…and the Principal. ..smh…he seemsaid to think he’s big and bad and that you’re to jump when asked how high. I REALLY HAD HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SCHOOL IN TURN TO BE DISAPPOINTED. .
Smh..worst school my child has been enrolled in…3rd grade..the teachers are just there for a paycheck..3 of my child’s books are missing and they are trying to blame her..after 1 of the books was found and is now missing again..school board has already been contacted…this school doesn’t even deserve the 1 star…
