Unorganized. Poor communication. Need to send confirmation email for all scheduled drives to student and also parent if parent is the one who signed the contract and paid. Unorganized so you didn’t get critical information, confirmations, etc. that end up costing you money. My son did not get the notice that that if you are 15 minutes late or forget your permit that they will charge you for a missed drive and you will have to pay for another one. Would be easy to put that on a confirmation email (if they would send one). Late start to classes without communication. Don’t answer their phone or return calls consistently.
My son signed up to take a test and we worked our whole schedule around it and when the day finally came, and we arrived they were already full even though he had signed up for it and was not late. He was so disappointed, and I was frustrated because I planned my schedule around driving him there.
Another particular drive we were on time to the appointment, but my son realized once we arrived that he had forgotten his permit (yes his fault) however the front desk knew I was going to rush home to get his permit and that I might be a few minutes over and when I got back, they were unhelpful and would not let my son drive even though the instructor was in the restroom for an extended period of time, and we were waiting for him to finish, this forced us to pay for another drive while the instructor happily went back to his computer without any compassion.
My son thought all of the drivers did a nice job when in the car with him so there was that but everything else was so bad.
My daughter took the written test there and after learning for few months how to drive I took her for the driving test. They failed her on the driving test by one point. Then I signed her with the North Star for full instruction classes. After taking the school they failed her again and said that she need to pay for extra driving lessons. Then she practiced driving with us again and she was able to drive fine. Then she took the test again with the same examiner who failed her again with 6 points and said that she didn’t practiced any driving since her previous test. We practiced with her every day. One of the complaints was that she drove too slow?! She got the test results with a lot of codes and abbreviations very hard to understand.
Don’t waist your time and money.
I wish I would have seen all the bad reviews about this place before they sucked more than $600 out me. In all fairness, the instructor that my son had was great to him and he learned so much from him. But the organization in this place is horrendous!! To top it off, I have no idea why 3 different occasions I’ve been told something entirely different than what it is “supposed to be”. It was either scheduling or prices. Never did I get a clear answer from anyone on the phone. Are these people on the same page?! Or is the training that screwed up???? And of course….they make it your fault, so get ready to pay up for “your fault”. This is worst example of how to run a business.
