Mesquite High School, Gilbert | Fees, Rankings, Address, Admission, Vacancies, Reviews & More

I have attended high school, in fact I’m finishing up my senior year. I had many teachers that I loved to learn from and that genuinely cared about my education. I also had teachers who went to work to give us useless busy work, and wanted us to be ‘independent’ and not help when it was needed. The football team gets all the money, which I find odd, because they aren’t even good. When it comes to other sports, they are mostly on their own for funds AND they are better. The lunches weren’t great, but the worst part, was that they always ran out for 5th hour lunch (second lunch period). Parking passes are $65 dollars, and you’d wonder where that money went… football team? The STUDENT parking lot is chaotic and the roads are cracked. If you even attempt to park in the empty spots in the staff parking lot (for convenience) you will probably get into trouble. The A.C. is always out, the lights aren’t always on, but you will notice the new golf carts for security are up to par. On Wednesday, our hour off day, they find it fit to have a practice lock down or fire drill; this is so the already cut class is even shorter, and our education is even more deprived. As a senior, I was looking into college scholarships, and eventually a schedule change, etc. The counselors are very nice people, but I wouldn’t say they were the best help. Applying for college and scholarships- I was told that I can use this paper to apply, without further help. I found myself stressing and struggling to navigate everything for college, going to the counselors countless times, being sent to different people every time, and ending up on my own again. I also found that they were never available. Always out of office, having lunch, etc. It’s hard to find the right time to visit during schools hours, and with my specific schedule, having evit PM, they were closed by the time I got back to the high school. I could go on with the complaints, but I’ll leave mercy. I believe Mesquite use to be a better school but, since I’ve been there since 2013, it has gradually decreased.

I go here and to be honest if I wasn’t a senior I would change schools! The lights are out in hallways, today we had no AC, our arts funds are being cut more and more every year! Yet we have enough money to supply everyone with chromebooks and new jerseys for every sports team every year! This school doesn’t spend money wisely in a bit! teachers haven’t gotten raises in 8 years!!!! Every year the number of teachers along with students decrease! One word to describe this school would be pathetic!

LAST TIME I CHECKED LUNCH DOESNT END UNTIL 12:30 TODAY (FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd 2017!) THE TIME CURRENTLY IS 12:24! LUNCH IS STILL IN SESSION. THEREFORE WHY DO THEY CLOSE THE LUNCH LINES EARLIER THAN 12:30! IF I HAD TUTORING AND I ONLY HAD 6 MINUTES LEFT TO EAT AND THEY DIDNT SERVE ME (LIKE TODAY) I WOULD BE FURIOUS (I AM) SO YOU NEED TO KEEP THE LUNCH LINES OPEN SO I DONT STARVE! I DIDNT EVEN EAT BREAKFAST TODAY!! IM NOT HAPPY SO PLEASE FIX THIS AND MAYBE ILL DELETE THIS ! thank you 🙂
