Where do I begin?!

Kids are supposed to be kept safe when they’re at school and there is a duty of care that is supposed to be upheld when your children are at school right?

Not at Lara.

Both my sons were bullied by not just one student, but their whole entire class and what did the school do about it? Nothing.. absolutely nothing. Not even a phone call or an email to the parents of the students that were culprits of the bullying the whole situation was ignored.

Harassment by students to and from the station, again nothing done about that.

Then a phone call from the vice principal of who couldn’t have cared any less and says to me “you don’t even live in the area so why don’t you just move them schools?” Why?… because it was it was put in the too hard basket from the beginning! No staff member from the school wanted to deal with the bad behaviour from the students so it was an easier solution for Lara for me to move my sons to another school and they turn a blind eye to what has happened and move on.

That one year 7 class had been known to be the biggest issue of the whole year 7 cohort, but did anyone do anything about it? Again, nope just continued to ignore the bad behaviour, out of sight out of mind.

I was lied to multiple times by staff about the situation being “dealt with” to then find out what was said wasn’t even true, all trust was lost in those people!

They’re more concerned about kids not wearing the correct damn shoes daily and giving them a detention. This school has bigger issues than the correct school shoes. Trust me!

Since leaving the school I’ve been contacted by multiple parents who have reached out to let me know they’ve pulled their child from Lara due to bullying and trauma. Also a brand new student that has started at the school this term put into that same troubled class was bashed for no reason by the same student that spat on my son!

Good going Lara, you really care about your students and their welfare!

Best thing we ever did was get our child out of this school.
Steer Clear!
The staff including the principle don’t listen to parents or students and fail to acknowledge or respond to correspondence.
as a year 9 at this school i can say it sucks but they have chips so im happy:)
Mr Hebbard is beyond the best teacher in the school. He’s so chill n the best. give him a raise
This school is a scapegoat. If you think that the amount of violence is any different to any other school in Victoria, your wrong. This school has had many incidents in the past but none that have been ignored. The people who mention a current affair forget that around five schools were mentioned in that news story. Students at this school can be cruel, but that is because they are children. The teachers are more than willing to help with whatever problems you may have. Believe it or not the teachers here do want to help you learn and they actually do care. If they didn’t they wouldn’t be teachers.
