This school isn’t too great. The students are mean spirited, xenophobic and hypocritical (and they didn’t get punished for their actions!). I was bullied all the time there. also, as of now, the school is still not finished even after a year they opened! You can still see remnants of the church that the school was built off of, along with bare and exposed pipes on the ceiling. Despite these, I made some good if not great friends here, despite a lot of the kids being very rude and mean. The teachers on the other hand, are great! They actually help you with your assignments if you need help and are very kind people who I liked. Overall, the school is a good idea on paper, however it could’ve been executed a lot better

Edit: one thing I would also like to add is the school’s lack of proper discipline. I was bullied so frequently there and the school did nothing but positive reinforcement instead. I understand the use of positive reinforcement, but I think that there should be times when actual discipline should come into play (especially when one is being bullied by others a lot).

I could not be more grateful for this school! Our neighborhood middle school would not have been a good fit for my daughter. I had zero other options and I cannot convey enough how appreciative I am that Prospect exists and that my daughter is lucky enough to be able to attend! When I drop her off in the morning I feel so fortunate that she gets to be in such a safe, nurturing environment.
My drive to Prospect is roughly an hour each way and I would drive a lot farther for this exceptional school!
The staff is amazing!! They are the most caring, talented individuals and really have your child’s best interests at heart.
This school was created with the purest, kindest intentions and is such a one in a million opportunity. To have a school of this caliber (and especially one that is free) is really unheard of.
Prospect is really fulfilling a crucial need and I will forever be thankful for them!
Do not believe what you read on their website. This school doesn’t have the staff to back up what they promise and use law enforcement and the criminal justice system as “behavioral support”. If your child gets easily dysregulated there’s a high chance that they will receive a citation from an SRO and you will end up in court. This has happened to multiple families at this school.

Also, they will try to convince you that you don’t need an IEP or a 504 Plan, but you absolutely do. If you’ve been through this at other schools the tricks Prospect plays to avoid culpability will be very familiar.

Editing to add that it was interesting to learn firsthand that Prospect has a bit of a reputation at the Arvada municipal court – i.e. wasting their resources and parent’s time by sending their students to court over trivial things.
