My son has been going to GSA for a very long time, which has immensely helped him open up and grow. I tried a few other debate classes, but GSA is the best among them in the Bay Area. My daughter has also started GSA this summer and plans to continue for a long time and grow.
We are impressed with the regular detailed report & feedback from the respective coaches, which helps the students to work on their improvements & refine their strengths.
The team at GSA prepares the student well for the upcoming tournaments and does lots of mocks during their classes. They also encourage the students to participate in as much of contests to get more exposure and grow faster.
I would recommend GSA for any communication-focused need of a child.
My son has been taking their class in the past few months. We have been very impressed by both of the two teachers who taught my son. Once we were traveling for a few weeks. The teacher, Emma, not only kindly reminded us every week before the class, but also suggested us to record a video as the final presentation since my son would have to miss the last class. After that, she took extra effort to watch the video and wrote a very detailed final report. My son has taken many classes outside of school, and it is not very common that a teacher would take these classes so seriously. As a result, we decided to move other classes so that we can continue to take classes here. Thank you Emma and all other wonderful teachers.
The Golden State Academys speech and debate program is the best! The coaches always engage their students, and the lectures never seem like a drag. Ive been in the GSAs speech and debate program for almost 3 years now, and Ive seen immense improvement in my public speaking, debate, and writing skills. I used to be so afraid to give presentations or participate in school as well, but Ive seen so much development in these past years. GSA has the best public speaking and debate program out there, I definitely would recommend enrolling your child in their program.
