I called to get dentures back in February 2923, was told I’d hear back within 30 dats, well took 4 months and me constantly calling before I finally get in. Then took student 6 more weeks before he could see me. Then he gets me set up with an appt for oral surgery and they give me the go and I’m waiting and waiting to get appointment with them and after anither like 6 more weeks student tells me he thought he could set it up but I would have to. So I finally get it scheduled the student proceeds to tell me that the partials I oaid to have put in same day of extraction can’t be done for he’d be on winter break, then proceeds to try and talk me into post pining surgery. I explain o can’t because 1 I needed that years insurance to pay for most of it so next years can oay for permanent teeth. So I couldn’t get partials for almost another 6 weeks. They have never fit right gas adjustments but they still make sores in my mouth. Than I find out my job was laying us off permanently so I’m not just out my job but my insurance too. Do I call to ask about help from any program to get my permanent teeth the girl was so rude and tells me I’d have to live with partials even though I told her they were making sorts. So yet again I get a letter telling me they are dropping me as a patient because I’m not nice. Seriously they’ve screwed up over and over but always blame you the oatient. Even though the oral surgery resident even said how the student screwed up I get blamed for being mad. And again they blame me the ointment all while defending student mistakes so now I’m not just jobless but toothless all due to no one there even trying to help or defend me the patient. Noth I ng like final nail in coffin thanks alot uofm dental school for adding even more stress to my life. The worst customer service ever, even worst than Comcast and I never dreamed they would be so low rent rude. Never ever even tried calling me to ask my reasons for being si upset. And I have had witnesses to tjier screw ups too.
We arrived here a half an hour prior to the appointment and had forms to complete. There were several receptionists checking patients into the practice – maybe like five. The receptionist we got was not overly friendly. The appointment time was at 9:45 am and there were signs that if you were 10 minutes over your appointment time and nog called back to let the receptionists know. I waited 20 minutes and then advised the receptionist and she said, When they have a chair, theyll call you back. I said? Your sign said to advise you. This part of the process was pointless. We were finally called back and the person who called us back was also not very friendly. Next, we were seen by the doctor. I explained that my Mother doesnt have the tolerance to sit and wait in the chair for hours. We drove a considerable distance and if there was a lot of idle time, sitting and waiting or having to return multiple times for students to see my Mother and then another appointment for a doctor to review the case, or just multiple appointments that this might not be the right fit. The doctor agreed and said I would most likely get the same service closer to home and it may require fewer appointments. The doctor was very nice, helpful and personable and deserves 5 stars! Since the university charges as much as a dentist, we will be going to see a local dentist. I also spent time and read the reviews which I would encourage you to do if you are considering this place as a potential option. Pay attention to the low reviews and billing/insurance issues that some patients experienced.
We wanted to get some work down at an affordable price. It’s a good place for cleaning, and filling cavities Root canals, dentures, implants, crowns and extractions I think you’d be better off finding a reliable dentist.
My friend needed dentures.
Scheduling was a nightmare. Especially since students take off, so sometimes it’s over a month before you can reschedule. My friend went without teeth for over a month, he finally got the uppers but then his lowers never fit properly. He finally decided to go to an actual dentist. Just beware of anything that might be complicated and take more than 2 visits to fix. Especially cosmetic.
You must have a full set of X-rays ($150.00) before any service is conducted. You can also send them from your dental provider. The 1st appointment takes about 4 hours. Take something to occupy yourself if you’re the driver.
Some of the students are very Gung-ho and nice. Just wish the Doctors weren’t so arrogant. Not sure why they have this superior attitude.
Oh well.
They also have other classes on the 3rd floor. Polysomnography, for Sleep Apnea. That’s about $2,200 cost for testing and the snore guard.
Parking is easy. Make sure you get your parking ticket stamped. The final cost is $3.00.
