My son has made great strides even though he’s only been at Spring Academy for 4 months. He can now count to 10 and sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in Chinese. He is already starting to trace letters and having better gross motor capabilities. As a mom, one of the best things is when I say “mommy hand”, he immediately holds my hand which makes me feel very safe with him especially when we are walking in busy intersections. Overall, my son has gained confidence and I can tell that the love that the devoted teachers have for him has helped him grow academically and socially. There have been times that I am at a loss about what to do with a cranky 2.5 year old at drop off time, but the teachers are so reassuring, and their warm embrace and love of my son makes me feel just so much more comfortable at drop off – I know he’ll be taken care of after I have to start my workday. Lastly, it’s been stressful to think of all the “what ifs” during the pandemic, but Spring Academy made me feel very comfortable since they require all pupils to have a negative Covid test and that all teachers be vaccinated for Covid. Their strict policies mean there hasn’t been 1 single covid case, which is not the case at other daycares in the area. I can’t sing enough praises about Spring Academy!

I think this Westfield school has potential to be great. However, I feel my daughter didn’t have the best experience coming here. From the pictures they send to all the families in the school, the work the kids were doing was never Montessori work. As a Montessori parent I envisioned my child working on Montessori activities and being taught in a genuine way. The work that was being brought home was worksheets that looked like it was copied over and over again. Also, the place in person looks unorganized and very outdated. They were teaching the children on a torn ABC banner. You tell me how can you teach like that. In regard you the staff, I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Certain staff members seemed very sarcastic and I didn’t like the language that my child was picking up from the school. I feel some staff members might be over worked and there might be too many kids. But that’s just my thought. My child now goes to another school and I have seen such a difference in her wanting to go to school and much better communication from staff to the parents. I wish the best for the staff and children. 3 stars because I didn’t notice any child abuse or neglect but def needs improvement to reach their truest potential and better staff.

The curriculum taught at Spring Academy is great. Not only the academics but General Knowledge, Science and even the day to day things like tying shoe laces are all taught to them. Mr. Bruce prepares the kindergarteners well for Elementary School. Jill is very accommodating and has been very flexible in adjusting our needs. My older one did after care at Spring Academy and Mr. PETER trained her for Math and Critical Thinking. Thanks to him she got into the Gifted and Talented Program for Westfield.
