I am proud to share I have worked in this prestigious school, Montessori Foundations of Chicago. MFC is not just a school but a home. 1 year of working with the beautiful Staff, Teachers, Families, and Children in MFC is enough for me to attest that MFC is a family of diverse, loving, respectful, thoughtful, kind, approachable, helpful, friendly, intelligent, funny and admirable wonderful people. The staff and teachers respect, support and help each other in different ways. MFC is 100% believer in Maria Montessori’s approach and religiously practices them. MFC works hard being there to help the child develop the love to learn at their own pace but most importantly guides in shaping their own character socially and emotionally to become RESPECTABLE, INDEPENDENT and RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS. You want your child to learn to be independent and proactive through Maria Montessori’s methodologies with school work, life and their self, MFC is the best school for you! I am proud to share, my Primary 2 class is filled with children not just smart thinkers but caring boys and girls, solves their problems creatively but also plans and hosts fun parties! I highly recommend parents and teachers to be part of the MFC Family. The only reason I am flying away from this awesome family is to be with my new family, my husband. I am thankful for the wonderful, precious experiences and memories I have shared with MFC, staff, teachers, families and most especially the CHILDREN. If you think you are awesome, you belong in MFC. If you don’t, MFC will make you become one and feel awesome! Like one of my students sing everyday from the Lego Movie, “Everything is awesome… ??”
I just wanted to share how grateful we are for Montessori Foundations of Chicago. MFC is the best thing that has happened for our family! Our son started in the infant room and is now one of the older students in his diverse, multi-age preschool class, and he is thriving. Besides the gorgeous new school building just a block away from the old location, the director (Ms. Betty) and staff have worked so hard to continue serving MFC students and families throughout this wild year. From customized home learning kits and preschool Zoom sessions during the spring 2020 shutdown to safely resuming in person classes following all the state protocols and even offering virtual parent engagement sessions, Ms. Betty and all the staff have truly gone above and beyond to keep this neighborhood gem shining. We really love how much his teacher and teacher’s assistants care about him and his development, and parent and family involvement is very high, which leads to a true sense of community. We have learned so much about how to be good parents, and our son has grown in so many ways and developed his independence. We feel lucky to be part of the MFC community and grateful that this incredibly high quality education is such an affordable option in the neighborhood.
My son has been here for 4+ years. He is now entering the elementary program. I credit much of his growth to the school. He loves going to school and learning. He reads well above his age and does so because he wants to, not because the school tells him he has to. The Montessori method has a way of building confidence in kids that makes them to genuinely want to succeed for themselves and the love of learning by expanding on a kid’s naturally curious mind. He brings this attitude not only in school but rather anything he does. At such a young age(3 y.o) not all kids are ready to do math or start reading for example, but the Montessori method allows kids to learn when they are ready rather than force them to start reading( or math etc) thus creating a distaste for it because it’s not their right time. The staff are trained in the Montessori method and know how to implement it the right way. We are proud to say our son goes to school there.
