I reluctantly gave it a 2 star the only reason being the teachers being very helpful and admirable. Though Im very young and have very little influence, I suggest all incoming freshmen to know what you are going into so your life doesnt become as miserable as mine.
To begin with, if you consider yourself a good student, dont come here and waste your time. If you are an advanced student, Im here to inform you that they will force you to retake all your highschool classes that you may have taken in your middle school, that being said… Id seriously suggest Martin Van Buren over this school if your options are limited. However I must admit, the teachers are extremely caring, sadly I cannot say the same for the students. I was in 9th grade (2016-2017) and I was in the Freire community, the teachers were perfect, Ms. Suchdeve, the Earth Science teacher created her own website to deliver all the notes in case you missed school, as I said, very admirable. Ms. Lonigro, the global teacher… She always had time to help you, well actually, She would make time to help you despite her busy schedule. Mr. Jerome, the math teacher, always made sure you learned something, showed you things with experience and perception like no other. And the Spanish teacher.. Mr. Cortes, he is the man, nuff said lol. Anyhow, personally, I despise the stupidity of the majority students attending that school and feel sorry for these great teachers who has the power to actually lead the right students to a successful life but again, sadly, not many great students there. Its like 4am, idk what im doin here, imma schleep. Btw, I transferred to Edison for my sophomore year.
Love this school. It’s like my second home. Such great teachers and guidance counselor. Everyone I talked with was friendly and loved to talk. I have to say I made a great choice to go to this school and glad I can be called an alumni. Class of 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My experience at the queens high school of teaching for 4 years was fun and i gonna miss it but yeah what people said about the school is true is sucked but it been fun so all other eighth grader going here just enjoy and be yourself
