Honestly at first I didn’t think I was going to be fully absorbed to the school, but now I see flushing as a regular high school. Regardless of what people think bullying, fighting, and other worse scenarios happens within all high schools in New York ??. My first day here as a freshman wasn’t bad yeah you had some “ghetto” kids, but that doesn’t mean they were bad all the time and yes there was fights but not as many as people made it seem. The school is great in my opinion if you do the regular old thing go to class, be yourself, do your work, participate, mind your business, you won’t have a problem. Friends on the other hand is not the schools fault. I do agree on the fact that flushing does not really handle the kids well when it comes to fighting or any conflict between students, but that’s not the schools fault… Its the DOE who hire these people to teach kids and guide them throughout high school. Most of the time the kids who usually make it in flushing are always academically focused or associated with teams or clubs. Other kids that follow the crowd, who don’t go to class usually end up below academic criteria and then they blame the school for their actions. High school is a preview of the grown up world so if you don’t get help, try to help yourself in the best ways possible technology today is amazing, you can search up anything online to help you, or you can ask a person who is more advanced in the things you need help with. I did what I was supposed to do in my freshman and sophomore year I didn’t talk back to my teachers, I joined sports, I did my work, and I passed my regents and I praise myself for that. Now I’m a incoming junior and I’m ready to see what junior year has to offer.
I have gone through my freshman year in this school. And honestly I can say it’s a good school. It’s not like how people put it to be a very bad school. You just have to know who to be friends with and who you should not be friends with. But the student at the school is very welcoming and really nice to each other. Also the teachers are very good to the students. My year spent at flushing at first I wanted to transfer but now having to get a offer from Cardozo I can’t seem to accept to transfer anymore. I have been welcomed and the people in the school and my friends have created a family there. So it’s not as bad as others put it. It depends on you taste in school. I only gave it four stars due to the fact that some teacher such as the science department this year for freshman does not really know how to teach a way for the students to understand. But other than that it’s a very good school. If your not very picky and know what your goals are when going to highschool coming to flushing will not be a problem. But some of the kids too are bad and the time they let us out is too late for my home distance.
Waaaoooooo 4 years with 4 new principal !!! This school is bad some what worst then all other school but on the other side there are 2 more schools in the same building and they are doing just fine by just fine I mean way batter then the Flushing highschool. The only thing good about this school is the after school clubs which they do everything them self I am in the drama club we are doing grate stuff in here, but yaa the study time which is 8:00am to around 3:30pm or more according to schedule given is the hellhole you have to survive. I gave 2 stars 1 for the clubs and 2nd for the teachers “some teachers who are doing there best to to teach”
