My son was having difficities in the Public Schools. Each day I walked on eggshell waiting for the call from the school telling me to pick him up or to tell me that he was suspended. My son’s behavior impacted his learning thus he was failing. The teachers, although kind, did not know what to do with him, so they left him to do whatever he wanted. After he was suspended from aftercare, I came across another program that suited him and me ( I didn’t have to fight to get homework done-It was done before he left the building). Now we could have real family time.

To my surprise and delight, there was a school affilated with the program that catered to children with special needs. When my son entered the doors of DSA, he was family. The administrators, staff, student and parents all embraced us like long, lost family members. Since that day I could work in peace and know that my son was in a safe environment where he was valued, loved, instructed and challenged to be the best he could be.

The first two quarters of this school year my son earned a 3.6 gpa. He was so proud that he boasted to anyone who would listen. The staff is very loving and fair, but, firm. I have seen children soar in all areas-socially & behaviorally, academically, independently and communicativeally. In the begining, I was offended because he never wanted to leave school, then I realized that he felt safe, loved and understood. After that point, I made sure he was one of the last students to be picked up in the evenings.

I Reccomend This School To Parents Who Want To Just Work In Peace or Those Who Are Tired of Excuses. Call now !

My daughter started attending this school in August 2020 (she has autism and struggled with virtual learning in public school during the pandemic). Dickens Sanomi Academy has literally been a blessing and I would recommend this school to any parent with a child that needs a specialized education. The staff there are incredible, knowledgeable and gifted; and the atmosphere they create for the children is wonderful. Never have I been exposed to such a creative learning environment. Every morning I thank God for this school and for the opportunity my child has been given to attend this school. Every morning I pray that this school will continue to be successful and that they will remain open, because I dont see my daughter attending any other school.
I am completely happy with this school the administration as well as the teachers. One of my grandsons who is mildly autistic and has attended this school for the past several years. I have seen him grow tremendously. My second grandson who has attended this school for the past two years who is not autistic. I have seen him developed and grow as well. The classroom structure and curriculums in my opinion are catered for each child and their individuals learning needs. I have attended many events at Dickens and I am pleased to see the care and attention that they provide to our children. Thanks Mrs Juliet and your staff for bringing hope to the children of our community.
