mayfield was like one of those carnival rides you used to love as a kid but whenever you pass it again you just wonder, what was so great about that sticky cartoon car? education-wise it was fine, teachers come and go so maybe my experience was out of season but i didnt have any issues. this was back when i was an eager preteen ready to dye my hair blue, engage in risky behaviors, and begin my life. the building wasnt in the best shape, the choir room had leaks, an ant infestation (we brought mason jars and made makeshift ant farms, no joke!) my class and i were too young and naive to really have issues with the school. looking back it wasnt all the great, but its a genuine experience, the nolstagia is still with me. there were mean teachers, bullies, leaks, but thats all in the package, wouldnt be the same without all the ugly! its a good and horrible memory but i never regret it.
Mayfeild Intermediate School in the City of Manassas, Virginia falsely accused me of parental kidnapping while trying to take my daughter to a medical appointment. Mayfeild Intermediate School also made Islamicphobic comments concerning the Prophet Muhammad Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him. Mayfeild Intermediate School also made Racist Comments concerning my daughters African skin shade, hair texture, and her socio-economic status. They made false reports to a court appointed who called my Ex-husband who has a documented history of domestic violence to me, temporarily awarded custody to him, and evicted from the school property. I recommend placing your child in your own ethnic or religious academy in order to avoid being defamed, family/parental Alienation, and discrimination based off of any Religion you are. This can happen to anyone.
When my son attended this school last year (before COVID), he had awesome 6th grade teachers (Mr. Stubler and Ms. Broskey) & an assistant teacher (Ms. H). Not only these teachers were easy going but also they were inspiring & motivating him. I am glad that they were his teachers.
