This is a school where respectfully addressed concerns are immediately heard & addressed. It is run with determination, optimism & a proactive approach to constant improvement. Goals are set, goals are metin an impressive & timely manner. I have seen firsthand the strong & arduous fundraising efforts & the fruit of these efforts which, without question, directly result in improving the academic environment at PCPA.
As a parent, my voice as an advocate for my children, all students & this school, always feels heard & my concerns consistently validated with proper action when appropriate. I have & will always treasure what PCPAs administration, faculty & staff have provided for our children & us as a family unit. I have complete peace of mind having our children at The Cove. It is the one school that has not required us as parents to awkwardly step in to demand that they address things going very wrong that would most appropriately be handled by administration because the administration, faculty & staff here do their jobs! They do it well, with loyalty, passion & a unity that is not common place in other schools. My only complaint would be… it doesnt continue through High School! ??However, I feel tremendous gratitude for the way PCPA has prepared & continues to shape our children for this next step of their journey. Anybody who is priority is a top education balanced with the from the children should be having find this place to be home for them as an employee or a stingray student family. Those not aligned with this mentality will not find this gem to be the right fit.
The majority, if not a large amount, of teachers here shouldn’t be teaching. It’s not about the certificate that says they can as much as it’s the way they teach or their behavior. Off the top of my head, I can only name three or four teachers who can actually teach and don’t snap at sight (the roster has changed since I graduated so I won’t list them).
The kids here are a problem as well. A few of them are actually pretty nice, but the majority are really mean. There’s a lot of unsolved verbal bullying, especially towards LGBTQ+ students, and I can stand as both a witness and a victim. During my enlistment here, I became clinically depressed and have even been traumatized by the things students here have said/done. A lot of this is swept under the rug, but it’s the truth.
This school is not fit to care for any child, not even a juvenile delinquent.
– edit: I’ve heard about the cop beating his daughter in front of inactive, incompetent staff, and this only further proves my point that the people here are absolutely sick. I’m glad some light is being shed on what’s going on here.
Also, has anyone noticed how they charge you for just about anything? “Wear a cap, for a dollar!” I thought this was a school, not a corporation.
Hell, a teacher once threw my cupcake away because I “wasn’t sharing with the others and it made them feel bad”. Why would I have to share anything with anyone? Is this against any policy, to throw a student’s food away?
Also, I lament to say my sibling now attends this school and is steered clear from as a “game”, which I dare compare to the Cheese Touch or Cooties, but particular to them. Their school supplies are stolen constantly, and nothing’s done about it. This has me fuming
