This was an amazing school and I loved every day of it. I also got a good education, although I’m not too sure how it is now with all these renovations and new teachers and students
Darlington’s a lovely little primary school, its a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. The school has a strong sense of community, small classes, friendly teachers and brand new facilities recently built over the last year. The new building and its facilities are huge in comparison to the number of kids enrolled.
Hey! I went to this school for a year and a half and it was not that great. Sure the teachers were nice and but they did nothing to stop the relentless bullying that went on. The education program wasn’t great down. No offence but I think I lost IQ. I think i actually lost brain cells. I was called the F slur for the whole time by quite a few of the kids and all the teacher did was tell me to ignore it. I left the school and am now at a much better school. Maybe because my new school is private but I still think that teachers should have enough respect for their students to help stop it. Some of the teacher were really scary sometimes! The two teacher I had in the whole time were nice but scary and kind of rude sometimes.
My 3 children have all enjoyed their time at Darlington. My eldest (now in year 8) cultivated a passion for the creative arts during her primary schooling at Darlo (starting in pre-school) which she is now pursuing into her high school years. My other 2 are also immersed in all the wonderful opportunities available at the school – debating, choir, coding, art and sports of every kind. This is all made possible by the amazing and dedicated teachers who work hard for our wonderfully diverse and cultural school ensuring learning and life skill opportunities for all the kids.
Darlington PS is a truly special school. A small, community oriented school led by extraordinary teachers who genuinely care about each and every student. The wonderful thing about being a small school is that every teacher knows every student and vice versa. Students at Darlo call teachers by their first names which is a sign of the value the school places on the child as individual, and the respect that staff have for students, which is reciprocated. A culturally diverse, inclusive, respectful, fun and kind school where everyone matters. Thank you Darlo for being awesome!
