Every day my sister comes home telling me about more ridiculous rules the school implements. MLC has turned into some sort of totalitarian regime. Teachers are giving detentions to students who are wearing earrings that are 2mm too large in diameter, or the colour ribbon in their hair “isn’t the right shade of blue”. Other girls in her year have received detentions for wearing too much mascara, and not wearing the specific MLC branded cap in PDHPE. There are much bigger problems that the school should be addressing and focusing on. For example, the recent scandal at the Newington cadet camp. I personally enjoyed my time at MLC, however, in my final year it definitely went downhill. The Executive team should reflect on these decisions as MLC should be a school for learning, not an elitist institution. The general public pays no mind to school students, as long as the girls wear the dress, nothing else should matter.
Great school. Easy to deal with. Progressive minded and forward thinking staff. They care for the students. And in return, the students care for them. Happy, positive environment – ideal for kids to grow up in.
This school is amazing my family friends all went and can’t stop talking about it. ( They are now in their 30/20s )!! Highly recommended
they way these girls act when playing sport shocked me COMPLETELY, one of the girls broke my niece’s hand and then began to laugh about it with hers friends, truly disgusted dont go to this school,
Absolutely love this school. Not only does my daughter thoroughly enjoy going to school every day (last 2 1/2 years) , I am confident she is well looked after . She continues to receive support and guidance from the class teachers as well as specialist teachers. I’m impressed with the principal and deputies, they virtually know every girl there and are at most events held at the school or off campus. Have to add , the facilities are outstanding.
