They do have assessments and tasks they have to do each term, it’s done in school time. If the kids don’t finish them on time at school, then they have to finish them at home. Much less stress.
Beautiful environment with heaps of nature and they have the most amazing incursions/excursions. The whole year level did for fire twirling for a term and then all the kids got to show off their skills at one of the solstice festivals! Amazing experience for the kids!!
For more opportunities the 10-12 year levels campus is now at Robina. Giving them access to real world experiences.
He was moved to a LEAD advisory which I expressed concerns about however this became not an option and was forced upon us. As I expected, my Sons engagement at school further declined. We were then forced into distance education via Silkwood which is painted with another name to make it sound supportive but once again my concerns about my Son doing this were not taken into consideration and saw him completely disengage from his learning. The school (including the Principal who I personally emailed) didn’t care or even acknowledge my concerns that I was a single parent who worked and wouldn’t be able to provide adequate supervision or support for my son.
My Son is now back in a mainstream public school and doing much better. He is catching up on learning lost at Silkwood and his grades are already reflecting a more supportive, structured education from a school who does work collaboratively with Families to ensure best outcomes for students.
my mum had me set on this school as a different approach to the schooling system, and at the beginning it was a great school, but then it changed and became mainstream, which is why we moved. i wasn’t being challenged enough in class, and the teachers just didn’t care about you. i also had a heap of friendship dramas, the teachers didn’t care enough to help you through it.
i don’t know why this school was rated 4.9 stars, it should be 1 star.
