I’d give them just the bottom spike of a star if I could, the faculty is disgustingly racist and dismissive of their bias behavior. The children are subjected to repeated shaming and obviously narrow minded commentary. For example children have been told to “Go to one of the local urban schools where you belong”, “I love being White because White is right it must suck to be Black.” Yes a Nun said “suck”! A child who’s heavy set was talking during a presentation about obesity and the teacher told her to “pay attention, if anyone here should be listening it should be you”. Another teacher questioned her on the comment, after walking in on the back end of it, and added “oh don’t worry it’s just how they are, they’re just big people”. Every parent we’ve witness beside ourselves questioning it is almost immediately told “we’ve been operating this way for 100 years and were not changing because some kids don’t like it. We’ll be happy to sign transfer papers whenever you like.”
The administration told my mother during my sophomore year that the reason I was being bullied is because “I was giving (students) something to laugh at” my mother can attest to this being said, really says a lot about the school if they allow the administration to say that to a students mother

Best decision of my life, this school prepared me for my college journey. We were like “family” in a way, I will truly miss SVA…memories!!!!
