I am a first year parent of a 10th grade girl ,and I love this school. I would highly recommend it to anyone that has a failing school district within PGH. The school schedule is a little more taxing on the children, but overall I think it prepares them for college and ultimately adulthood. The one thing that I think the school should work on is teaching the children to respect one another during school hours. Although this is something that should be instilled at home; and unfortunately it’s not always done; the school should look for ways to reinforce this. I have had 3 incidences with my daughter this year in which she has been the target of meanness, ignorance, and almost bullying. I know most high schools can’t police everything; but the one thing that the school focuses on during parent and student orientations is how they expect every student to act. With these situations it just seems like they need to give the children more guidance on respecting their fellow students.
Overall I still feel like my daughter has grown academically and that she will graduate with a solid education that will prepare her for college and a good work ethic to face the job market .
I delivery here often and I lyke what I see. The children are polite and the staff aren’t jerks as some places I go to!
The best school I’ve ever seen. So it was a must that my child go there.
