Pitt’s School of Social work and associated faculty and staff work very hard to ensure the success of their students. The education is comprehensive and highly skill/practically based. Upon graduation, students should definitely be able to practice very competently in direct practice or at a systems level. Most of the faculty are excellent instructors with very relevant practical experience.

The main cons are the amount of disorganization within the department and that a few instructors (a minority) aren’t great at teaching.
