Before- and aftercare program is wonderful with caring staff, but I would not recommend for preschool. Our time at RSPS was our family’s most stressful childcare-related experience. It was a cold environment for our 3-year old.

We enrolled her in the pre-K program. She was potty trained before arriving, but had a few accidents during the first few weeks of school, as is common for kids experiencing a transition with child care. For that reason alone, the school summarily suspended her for 3 days for a “reset.” Both of us work full-time. We were called in to meet for over an hour with the principal, head of the department, and teacher. Complete overkill.

She went back to school at the end of the “reset.” She had no additional problems with potty training, but the focus immediately shifted to her being unable to sleep and stay on her mat for the entire 2 hour nap period in the afternoon (which would be quite a feat for any 3-year old).

We were called in again to meet with the principal, department head, and teacher and told we had to pick her up during nap time if she did not stay on her mat. After about a week of picking her up at 1 PM, we found another preschool (Celebree in Ellicott City, which is wonderful). She is thriving there, and the staff love her and appreciate her good qualities.

In switching, we forfeited half the year’s tuition, meaning we paid approximately $5,000 for five weeks of stressful, subpar child care.

After this experience, I am not able to say this is a warm, loving place for preschool-age kids. Also, very little diversity.

We love Resurrection-St. Paul School. The school is a faith-based community that all stakeholders work hard to make the very best enviroment for our children. My family has been part of the Resurrection-St. Paul School for 4 years. My oldest child is a recent 8th grade graduate of RSPS and she was extremely well prepared for the rigourous honors level classes she is now taking at a private high school. Prior to attending RSPS, my children attended a highly rated Baltimore County elementary school, and while the academics were strong in language arts and math other subjects were glossed over. RSPS has offered the same strong academics in LA and math and then gone above and beyond in religious education and STEAM. We have been thrilled with the strong STEAM program at RSPS and the cross curricular classes. This is a school where all staff members know your child by name providing a secure and welcoming environment from pre-k through 8th grade. The buddy program also allows the older students to get to know the younger students. Thank you to all the staff members who work so hard to maintain such a great environment for our children!
This is the end of an era for us and our time at RSPS. Like so many others who came before us, we are woven into the fabric of RSPS and it’s history. My daughter started in pre-K and attended RSPS for the last seven years, through fifth grade. I know she will take with her the foundation of all the very best qualities that RSPS teaches both academically and spiritually. We will definitely miss this close knit supportive community. I want to thank the teachers and administrative staff for all they have done for us over the years, but especially I want to thank Mrs. Karen Murphy, for all the time and effort and love that she poured into my child. I am eternally grateful.

I would highly recommend RSPS to anyone looking to provide the best education possible to their children. This school is the trifecta of academia, spirituality, and the arts.
