tl;dr: all the teachers I’ve work with are nice and helpful, and I hate the shift from Docs to Word

middle school:
I don’t remember anything because I was half asleep the whole time (not their fault, I just have a bad sleep schedule)

SAT prep:
(this was pre-online SAT)
the textbooks were kinda difficult, esp. math. teachers were patient when explaining things. I got a lot of good SAT-specific tips, especially from Mr. Chris for the math section

college essay:
I worked w/ Mr. Kyle, Mr. Ivan, and Ms. Madeline. they were all super nice and helpful

helped with coming up w/ ideas, suggesting edits, tips for what colleges want, etc. they all communicated their suggestions very clearly, at least to me

notes:
– I haven’t had any tutoring from anywhere else, so I can’t say if C2’s better than the others

– the usual lesson works like this:
-> ~2-3 students per teacher
-> teacher assigns each student work (ex. textbook sections)
-> teacher checks a student’s answers while others work, then they rotate to the next student

– the english teachers sometimes go on tangents. honestly, I appreciate it because it’s pretty engaging, not super long, and it actually helps me focus. working for two hours straight turns my brain to mush

– I’ve met a couple different receptionists, and they’ve all been nice. Ms. Diane even offered to wait for my parents at the end of the day (bc my parents were late)

– C2’s system shifted to Word, so it’s really annoying if you’re a google docs user. for the love of god don’t use your school account. I got locked out for a hot minute and couldn’t access my personal statement when I was trying to submit it

– my SAT score went from 1420 to 1480 in 3 months, if that means anything. I already started SAT tutoring before my 1420 score, so my scores aren’t very useful

– sorry if anything’s incoherent, it’s 4am and I need to do homework bye

As a tutor who recently worked at this location: I cannot sing my praises enough. The environment may have been the most kind and caring I have had the pleasure to work in. Students were not only treated as students, but as people. C2 is not about learning alone, it’s about growing. In my time there, I had the pleasure to witness my students grow intellectually and emotionally. The staff at C2 in Ellicott city are truly some of the most supportive individuals I know, and I am lucky to have had the honor to work with them. If you are looking for a place to prepare your children for the SAT/ACT, look no further.

Pandemic brought additional challenges for my kid. Math classes were cut short and Teachers could not pay enough attention to all kids.
Mr. Chris and Mr.Ben at C2 are excellent teachers. They worked with my kid on SAT prep. Within 3 months of working with my kid, they were able to bring back the familiarity he had with the subject and got A in every test in English and math. Their SAT test prep is like no other. I would recommend C2 for any parent who wants to make sure that their child has options for college.
