There is literally no other place like it. Even after 25 years an alumni can walk in and they are treated like family. There is a joke about men from MC that is meant to be a dig but it’s actually a compliment. “How do you know a guy is from Mt. Carmel? Just wait he’ll tell ya.” That’s right we will tell you. Because there are no prouder alumni. The coaches, teachers and students you meet will be with you for a lifetime. It may be a struggle to drive there but it is so worth the sacrifice.
If you are not an athlete do not go here. I am a working artist and when I went here for high school, the Dean pulled me out into the hallway and told me my dreams were ridiculous and that being a creative person would not get me anywhere in life. I shortly tried to leave the school after that incident. The school gave me a very hard time. They would not release my records so I could transfer out.
The academic structure is first class even for young men not involved in sports!!! The spiritual discipline and guidance provided to all students allows them to succeed beyond anything you thought your son could achieve!!!
