I did the whole interview process and tour process with my child. The school is lovely, the staff is kind. Everything seemed perfect to fit my child’s needs. The only thing is that they seemed unusually focused on my child being transgender. They kept misgendering my child, and vocalized how this may be a problem. They stated that they were concerned which bathroom my child would want to use when coming in for their shadow day. They said their psychologist wanted my child In therapy because the other children might be blunt with my child or make fun. I’m deeply disappointed. The website states there is no discrimination based on gender specifically. I very much expected us to be treated like everyone else. The unique difference of my son to me was the learning and social differences that T&C professes to address and not the gender of my child. While I do not doubt, however, that this is a wonderful school, please be aware that this is still Oklahoma and it may not be a very progressive one.
Very lovely experience visiting during an interview. Got lost finding location. Google Map started acting funny. School reminded me of a Texas intermediate school I attended for 2nd-12th grade. Absolutely love the setting of the school and staff.
Zero Stars for sure. This school is a joke. I hope they eventually train their teachers better. There were lots of issues here.
