Without my asking, the school arranged for both my children to attend accelerated programs for math and reading. And my son’s fourth grade teacher worked with me to ensure that he would be prepared for the important common core assessment at year end. He scored “advanced” in both reading and math.
Aside from meeting the academic needs, the school provides excellent special education (art, music, etc.) and after school programs. There are also many community events to involve the parents and families. And I am embarrassed to say, my daughter actually preferred the cafeteria mashed potatoes to mine.
My children really loved Boevers. And they have never liked any other school in the same way before or since.
Mrs. Pennington, the principal, makes it all happen from the top. And I’d also like to give special thanks to Mrs. Watkins, a very caring teacher. and Ms. Bisdee, a wonderful community coordinator.
Many parents will just end up being assigned to this school without much thought when they move to the zone. But if any parent is trying to make a housing decision based on schools, please give this zone a try. I think you and your kids will love it.
1st grade mid yr we transfered to new school. Change of principals/teachers.
Teacher could careless if my son needed to continue in speech or needed in reading class. We were fighting a battle with anything and everything! Transferred away and now with a great teacher who has gone out of her way to get him 2ND grade ready.
Wonderful staff! I am so amazed how much my son has learned in the short time he has been in pre k! His teachers are amazing at their job! He has grown so much and enjoys going school everyday!
