I cannot in good conscience recommend this school to all but it will be a good school for some.

First, the good, for this particular area the school is very good. The choices aren’t too many and this school offers what normally would not be available to trying parents who want better for their kids. The curriculum is rigorous so expect to work hard.
Teachers; there are some excellent teachers, math, geometry, science teachers in middle school are excellent.
The headmaster runs a tight ship and discipline is enforced, so you are unlikely to see the shenanigans you see elsewhere. In these areas the school gets top marks.
Now the bad and not so good.
Back to teachers, in the elementary school they hire anyone . Even those with no educational background. If you go to the same Church , well there’s a spot for you. In other words nepotism runs riot.
There is another problem which is more insidious that upsets me to no end. Let me clear, they are NOT bigots, but the lack of a diverse educational experience leads them to be extremely close minded and cautious in regards to other communities, or respecting other religions ,other accents, other cultures etc. Again this is mostly in the elementary school. I have heard teachers disparage students who struggle to speak English or grasp the content or are of a different religion, some teachers and staff don’t pronounce names correctly, and when corrected nonchalantly claim they’re too hard to pronounce.
Acceptable perhaps in Walmart but NOT in a school. You take the time to learn the name and pronounce it correctly. Remember the area , this is majority minority so get with the program.

Lastly , the school peddles Christianity insidiously, students study “Stories from the Bible” etc under the guise of “English comprehension” or “English grammar”
Students are encouraged to bring their Bibles.Well if you’re not Christian , tough luck.
The school needs to be issued a stern warning, public funds supports this school, they cant be peddling religion.
There are non Christian students and they most definitely DON’T want Christianity thrust on them.

I’ve been going to this school for the last eight years of my life, and let me tell you, it is different than any other teaching method I’ve ever experienced! Not only does our curriculum remain steadfast in the wondrous arts and humanities, but the teachers work one-on-one with each and every single student. I’m so glad I didn’t have to go to public school, because from experience, let me tell you, we have a no bullying tolerance policy and everyone at school is always so kind. My favorite subject is either English or Latin because of the invigorating history and literature contained throughout the subjects. And, the school itself is like my family; no matter what, I’ll never give up on them. So, if you’re one of those people that have left a bad review of the school, chances are, you haven’t gotten to know it well enough, or you’re giving up on what could be one of the best educational opportunities possible! Setting aside the school’s syllabus, Founders (Lewisville, specifically) is part of a community with movie nights, 5k runs (only for this one-prior COVID), spirit weeks, silent auctions, and basketball and volleyball showdowns. All of my best friends hail from this tight-knit school, and I could never ask for anything better. If you’re reading this and haven’t sent your child to Founders (Lewisville!!), please consider this investment opportunity in education, growth, friendship, and community for your child (or, if you are a kid, please convince your parents to go here!!), and it will GREATLY help them in the future. We may be tough and complex on the outside, but we’re humorous, kind, and individualistic on the inside. Thank you so much!!
My student, who I am keeping anonymous for her safety, has worked day and night on her senior thesis. This senior thesis that supposedly all seniors must complete and present in order to graduate has made her life so miserable. The school forces this extensive 14 page paper on seniors who are in the middle of college applications and other extracurriculars. They should be allowed to focus their time on completing these college apps in order to prepare for their future beyond high school. Instead, my daughter was entirely busy on completing her senior thesis. It became so bad that my daughter has produced long term medical issues regarding her mental health and well being. On top of everything her teachers and advisor, who are supposed to guide the students on this senior thesis, were said to be extremely unhelpful and even discouraging. My daughter said that one of the teachers told her “you will never be anything in life if you do not excel in writing your senior thesis.” Overall this kind of remark should not be tolerated and I am heavily disappointed in this school.
