Jury is still out on this one! I luv that my son is learning discipline & consequences! I understand the goal is to impact change but what kind? Alternative schools goals should be to rehabilitate the child not solely punishing them for their mistakes. We’ve all made them & nobody survives without guidance. I’d suggest an advocate to speak for students to lower the return rate. These kids are tagged, labeled & prejudged instead of being mentored & given the support they need during this major transition in their lives. I’m not saying “free da kids” but I am saying “lead the kids”. Our guidance & encouragement prepared our son for the mental & emotional fight he’d face here & upon returning to home school. What about those who don’t have that? They suffer ridicule, humiliation, isolation, retaliation & even meals I wouldn’t feed my cat! Just because a system works doesn’t mean there isn’t any room for improvement. This has def impacted our family to create a voice in the community for the voiceless. Our kids should not suffer in silence.
You can get stuff stolen from and they won’t do anything about it .
And it happens frequently.
is this place for adult learning I’m looking for GED classes
