My student is in the SPED class. I receive nothing to tell me what he does at school. I should not have to call an IEP meeting just to find out what he is learning. Also, he has no grades and even though he is in an inclusion class for science, he doesn’t take the tests with the other students or get tested in any way so it’s more of he’s just there than that he’s being included. I am a SPED mentor and work closely with a few teachers in Gulfport. This is not how they do things. Students in inclusion are included and there is a newsletter weekly to let parents know what is being done at school. This school needs to get like that and quit being a daycare.
School is more important than your child’s health… Some students are bullies too.
