My daughter has attended SBCS since first grade. She is now in the 6th going to 7th. My personal experience has been very fulfilling not just for myself as a parent but my daughter who has excelled under the tutelage of her teachers. From administration, to morning and afternoon care the care is excellent. My daughter has never been bullied and has never witnessed it. The classes are small and she gets individualized care if asks in any class. She is comfortable and happy. Administration is always willing to help in a pinch. Lunches are hot and delicious with great variety. My daughter has learned to play an instrument and is in the band. I find that she is becoming well rounded and I credit the school with helping to mold and guide her into the teenager and young adult she would like to be. The school dontes their time to many charities throughout the year Shoes for Haiti, packing lunches for homeless, and charitable events to raise funds for the school. Recently a new roof was placed on the chapel where the children attend services. The school is a reflection of the community it serves.
My son began attending SBCS in August of 2015 in the 4-year old Enrichment program and I can’t say enough about the program, his teacher and the staff. He will be 5 in June but he’s nearing a 1st grade level in reading and math. He’s one of three students in the Enrichment program (one just began this week) and I can’t tell you how much one-on-one development these two children have received! He brought home a new book the other night and and flew through it with no issues. To say he’s doing well is an understatement! We couldn’t be prouder of him and of the staff that he’s in contact with on a daily basis and we can’t wait to see how he ends the year and continues into the next phase of academia at Stetson Baptist Christian School!!
My daughter attends SBCS and I like the classes are small. I don’t like that administration changes often and this means changes in uniform and logo and purchasing of uniforms every year. My daughter participated in holiday gifts and wanted to purchase a Star of David but was advised by a teacher that if I were not Jewish I would not like it. I would have loved it. I brought it to the attention of the administrator who promptly did nothing about it. I can feel the stress and the tension between staff and the administrator. I hope he leaves next year.
