Hello my name is Nate and I am currently enrolled in Mather Highschool as a Sophomore. I came here to change the way how Mather High school is looked. Mather Highschool is one of the most diverse schools in the nation with a whopping 2,000 students. My experience so far has been great, I have been in the principal honor roll ever since I walked into that door freshman year. Teachers here are extremely helpful and always put there students first. To give you an example I took geometry freshman year and i was kind of struggling in the class so i talked to my teacher and set me up multiple appointments of tutoring after school throughout the week. Before you knew it I was passing his tests with A’s and passed the class with an A also. Not that Im becoming a junior next year with multiple AP classes Im not worried that any teacher in this school will let you down. So if your thinking about high school definitely look into Mather High school The Home of the Rangers!
Since my freshmen year this school has changed dramatically, there are barely any fights, one or two kid fights every few month. No gang violence in or outside of the school. There are students who make bad choices but this school’s faculty are working so hard to help them graduate right on time. Also average ACT score has increased significantly in past 5 years, from a low 16.7 to 18.9. This school is great for language barrier students as well as students who want to pursue post-secondary education after high school. I myself excelled myself in four years, first by taking honors courses and then multiple advanced placement classes. We have great, highly qualified teachers, staff, security, and principle. What else can you ask this school? It can’t become NSCP in one night but it has achieved a level 1 status.
As a freshman attendant to the school as of now and having been reading all the negative reports on Mather High School, I think it’s time for a new, current, review. As I have read, people complain of gang fights and catastrophic behavior. Most comments are from years ago. The most recent I have seen was 3 years ago. This school has changed dramatically. There are barely any fights, little or (most of the time) no gang activity, and the staff are actually trying to help. It is more of a normal high school now. Although it’s not the best high school, it is certainly permitable.
