Staff aren’t helpful, some teachers are blunt and won’t really help you out if you are lost or in need of assistance. I love Montessori schools, but i’m tired of this one… Teachers and other staff need more training. At clark you have to pay thousands of dollars on trips that are necessary to pass and be able to graduate. There are scholarship opportunities but I know that not every kid and their parents can afford to pay for mandatory trips every year because I know I can’t. Most students are really nice, thats why I like Montessori schools, they get us all involved and we are a big community, but like at any other school there are the occasional bullies and the teachers and principle don’t really take care of the situation. I have many cons to this school but I do have a couple pros. You get to experience a community atmosphere, meaning that you will feel more included in class and activities and there a lot of cool trip opportunities (such as Hawaii and Ecuador). One more (extra) big con that is a pet peeve, the school is absolutely DIRTY and disgusting, the halls are so dirty and covered with food and trash. The school smells pretty bad as well. The janitors do clean but not that well. I will be graduating next year, i’m happy to get out of there lol. Good luck to those joining clark in the upcoming years!
My son is in his first (7th grade) year at Clark. He is very motivated by his experience. He has always been at a Montessori school and we couldn’t be happier. He has an IEP and his teachers are always available to help, whether it is after school help or by email, text or phone calls. They always respond and are truly involved in his ongoing success.
This school does not seem to be equipped with staff that is properly trained to accommodate students with ADHD or any non-visable disability. Having an IEP or 504 plan does not aid with this issue either.
