I would like to say that I am pleased with the academic progress my son has made at this school. However, I have become unconfident in Peebles Elementary to monitor students and behavior of teachers. My son was thumped on the side of his head by a music teacher he calls “Mr. B”. The school did what they called an investigation. They spoke two students who were in line with my son when it happened. Keep in mind these are pre-k students. I do not know if the parents of these kids were present when they were questioned by school staff. The AP, and Principal followed up after the investigation with the statement of “the incident has been well documented and the proper steps have been taken. I inquired about whether or not this teacher did in fact thump my son on his head and what was the disciplinary action. I was told that information could not be given to me. They have supposedly changed my son to a different class. I have lost all confidence in this school and dread taking my son to this school. There has been two seperate incidents involving my son and another student that was due to the teacher not properly supervising the class. My son received a referral for this incident that could have been avoided if the teacher had been paying attention. I too have witnessed teachers and aids get in students faces. There is a growing issue of boundaries and lack of supervision at this school. I have seen students in pre-k hug one another and have heard stories of kids being caught in the bathroom together. How do these incidents happen if there are teachers and aids who should be properly watching our kids?
First off I want to say the pre-K teacher Ms. Pille is amazing!!!! My child is now in kindergarten and started off the year in Ms. Fleets class. The very first day she tried to change my child to a different teacher because her class was over the amount of students and she said she picked my child because I didn’t attend meet the teacher day. I ended up talking her into keeping him in her class but I should of just let him change because she started bullying my child sending him to the principals office for accidents!!! It got so bad that we had the change his teacher to Ms. Peterson who is awesome by the way. He hasent had any problems in that class. But he is having problems with other teachers, the first being Ms. Tucker who is getting so close to my son face to face that he can smell her breath. I’m sorry but no teacher needs to be that close to tell a child to stop. And now today my child had a sub named Ms. Torres who grabbed my child on both arms squeezed them very tight and put him in his seat. I have called up to the school for all of these situations and they say the same thing each time making it seem like my child isn’t being truthful or that the matter isn’t serious . Please be aware of these teachers and ask your children everyday how their day was to make sure things like this aren’t/don’t happen.
I really don’t understand this school or the leadership in place. My son is in Kindergarden at Peebles and has been bullied by a Teacher to the point where we had to change his class. Now a sub NAME : Ms Torres grabbing him by his arms with no restraint on how tight her grasp was. On top of all that ‘a lunch monitor “Miss Tucker” getting so close to his face that he didn’t want to go school. Come on!!?? My Son likes to go to school.
