I wish I could rate this school 0 Stars due to the fact that my daughter who went there for kindergarten through fifth grade even though the school is a kindergarten through sixth grade which is totally irrelevant if you’re going to send your kids there for one middle school year and transfer them to a different middle school they’re going to end up becoming depressed because of the fact that their friends aren’t going to be there anymore they’re going to see them for one more year and then have to waive sad goodbye because they most likely will not be going to the same school. Along with that I think the staff are very disrespectful to the students other teachers and the parents because last time I went I went to a PTA meeting and without the principal directly telling us she called us idiots. As well as that I think that they should really focus on the fact that their food is absolute dog waste because when my daughter went to go and eat there she watch the student get food poisoning from eating one of their burgers which they do not cook thoroughly because when you open them up and go to put the condiments on the cheese is all over the place and it looks downright disgusting along with that the meat is pink it’s not cooked and then they’re Pizza it’s disgusting it’s always burnt it’s always hard and crusty so that makes it unappealing and they wonder why the students are always so hungry and looking like zombies in the morning and the afternoon and when they go home they always receive an email about the food and they always reply sorry we can’t help you with that but you’re welcome to speak speak to the school board about it. And for my file complaint that I love to be fixed even though they most likely will not go to try and fix it because they’re going to think that they’re little school is so perfect just because views that saying it’s a 5-star rating but it’s not if you ask any student there they will say that these staff teachers and principal are disrespectful and they don’t see the other side of the argument. And one final little thing my daughter got into one fist fight because the student was being disrespectful and annoying when the teacher and the principal came they took the other students side who started the fight my daughter was straight-up slapped in the face because of that and then I had to have my daughter server detention I almost came up to the school and downright beat it every single adult in that building. I wish I could give this I wish I could give this school -2 thousand stars.

Enrolling my child here was the biggest mistake I have ever made as a parent. I regret it every single day. Most of my child’s teachers try their best and are very good with the kids. There are two teachers that I feel have some sort of personal issue with my child. So much so that, for the first time ever, my child brought home a D in a class. We came from a gifted program where my child had all As. Another teacher is clearly in need of a 72-hour hold at the nearest mental facility.

I am utterly disgusted at the way the people at this school carry themselves and treat the children. My child was made to stand up at lunch for 30 minutes and also denied an opportunity to use the toilet, a basic human necessity. Upon going into the school to address it, I was lied to by an Administrator who denied that it happened.

I have personally observed many children at this school throw chairs, behave horribly, be rude and do pretty much whatever they want. Teachers, instead of reprimanding students appropriately, either pretend not to see things or speak to them as if they were also a child, bicker and argue.

Schools in this state are already subpar. Cobb county parents have little choice when it comes to ensuring that their children are properly educated in an inclusive, stable environment. This school, with their unpalatable lunches, overpriced uniforms, and unqualified, glorified babysitters plays on that lack of choice by presenting itself to be much more than what it really is. It is a total scam.

Your child is much better off at a regular school. The main reason I enrolled my child here was the IB PYP. Parents were sent a letter stating that IB was too expensive and the school board voted to end it. I can’t even imagine what they’re going teach these kids next year. Thankfully, we’ll be long gone by then!

During my time as a student at International Academy of Smyrna was not what I would have liked it to be, there was a lot of great people that I have met there. I was in 5 grade when I left and now going to 8th so they could have changed. It is just that I was bullied most of my time there and non of the staff helped I was in counseling for one of the bullies but other than that I had little to no help. For example there was a time I was drawing and this kid came over to bother me so when he was standing there say for me to move I said no (because they said to stand up for yourself an anti-bullying posters and videos) and I pushed him out of the way then it leads to a fight. What I thought what was going to happen is the kid will beat me up then the after school teacher will tell him to go away, but she see sent me away like I did something bad then the head of the after school program brought me to her office saying stuff like Im going to put this on your permanent record and by the way the kid mom works for the school. I have had many incidence like this one another example is a girl kick me in the balls and I cursed at her and I got in trouble. Not only the people where mean but the food was garbage like there was mold in uncooked food I don’t know about now but when I was there everyday people had stomach bugs because of the food. Other then the emotional scarring and garbage food the also misbehaving kids the school is ok. sorry for the very long review I was just making a honest statement of my time in this school.
