Both of Children have graduated from Greatwood Montessori the August. They both started there when they were 18 months. We had great experience with the school. The school has developed my children in many ways.
The areas I most love about the school are the following:
1. Food; Chef Ms. Megan prepares fresh food every day, ONSITE. She has many amazing recipes, such as burger with hidden vegetables. Some dishes she makes at school, such as vegetable soup, I could never get my children to eat at home. My children tell me it is not as good as Ms. Megan’s. Another amazing thing is that she also prepares very healthy snacks for children at toddler and Pre-k classrooms. My children developed very good habits of eating Carrots, Cucumbers, and Pears all thanks to Ms. Megan and her healthy cooking. Thank God, these become the only few types of veggie they love to eat since very young age.
2. Academic. The school has a strong teachers’s team. We love my children’s teachers. They are learning every day at a very loving and encouraging environment. Every year, the school also provides several events where parents can see real time what their children learn in the classrooms, such as “watch me work”, parents and teacher conference, Halloween Costume Party, End of Year Performance, etc. I do have my favorite teacher in the school. However, if you are interested in choosing the school for your children, you can try to speak to each teacher at the classrooms, and observe their teaching for half an hour or an hour to choose the best teacher for your child.
3. Very friendly staff. Ms. Brooke and all the assistants are all super nice. They are very good at communicating with weekly emails. And they are always so sweet if ever there is anything they can help.

Con:
1. Sometimes a bit high teacher turnover rate.

My son has been going to this school for the past year and I have very happy with my experience thus far. I was extremely reluctant to send my son to any type of “day care” facility due to all the horror stories you hear about terrible things happening to kids. I even went to the extent of hiring a full time at home nanny. But when my son got to the age of 3 and could communicate very clearly I decided it was time. After interviewing multiple facilities I picked Greatwood Montessori as I felt the most comfortable with my son’s safety and health being my primary concern. Every staff member I have run into seems to genuinely love children. His teachers Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs. Janet are exceptional and I couldn’t ask for any better. When I ran into a couple situations, some minor bullying issues which I would consider normal when dealing with 3/4 yr old kids, they were handled extremely professionally awaring me right away and taking action to ensure it didn’t continue. I would highly recommend Greatwood Montessori for anyone else looking for childcare.
My kid loves going to to Greatwood. Being a first time parent we were anxious on how our 2 year old kid takes her school. She did well so far without any issues and it’s been about 3 months. She enjoys and looks forward going to school, meeting her teachers and friends. They have live feed cameras which helps to curb your anxiety as a first time parent. They have good activities planned through out the month which includes splash day, foam party, yoga day and book reading competitions. They do offer electives for sports and arts in addition to what is being taught in the class. Constant updates of the child’s activities by sharing photos. We are vegetarians and they cater very well in case your child has a special need (Ms.Meg is amazing). Overall kid enjoys going to school and spending time with teachers and friends. Thanks Greatwood Montessori for all the hardwork dealing with the kids. Couldn’t ask for a more better experience.
