The teacher in my son’s classroom was not prepared at all to deal with an autistic child. I submitted ways that his therapist taught me to work with him to help manage his emotions and fear of change but she was continuously rude and sent him home every day for allergies that were listed on his medical file. She spoke rudely to me and I made multiple complaints about her to the director. I requested he be evaluated for special needs, this was ignored. The teacher lied repeatedly and I continuously had to correct her statements. She stated I provided no support regardless of me getting my child into play therapy, going to family sessions separately with a child behavior specialist to help better manage with him, signing up for ABA training to better accommodate, and requesting family therapy sessions through the school. That woman should be fired. I finally pulled my child from the school. If your child is suspected of autism, I do not recommend.
Don’t recommend this program at all for a child with developmental disabilities. Like autism, ADHD , and etc. What does the disability coordinator do ? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Law states they have two weeks to Answer for an IEP. It’s been 3 months. The lady that’s over the educational program gaslit me by saying there’s children that’s been on a waiting list 4-5 months. She blamed another organization for it. Besides that, they need a new program coordinator or CEO to go through everything and get rid of people. Wish I could say more. Another time.
