I was at Reinberg for Kindergarten and I recently transferred back to Reinberg for my 8th grade year. This school is much more professional than the previous school I was at which was Marvin Camras. Many kids are very friendly and the teachers are friendly as well. The principal Mr. Loch is very outgoing and active. You can really tell he cares for each of the students. He’s very funny and jokes around a lot. I’m out of the school district and Mr. Loch even arranged for me to come to the school. I would give 5 stars but not all faculty is as friendly as the principal. Take, for example, Mr. Paul the head person in charge for lunch, he forces the kids to eat and after teachers and the principal repeatedly tell him he can’t he refuses to listen. Don’t misunderstand what I’m trying to say here though, there are still many wonderful faculty and staff such as the security guards, Mr. Ruben and Mr. Robert. They are the kindest security guards I have ever met. They truly care for the kids. They both go out of their way to buy snacks and treats for all the kids. They both joke around and they never yell unless they absolutely have to. Many kids have a lot of respect for the security guards and teachers here. Unlike Marvin Camras, Reinberg has a field and they actually have sports and art classes. Our sports teams compete against Steinmetz and other schools. Above all Reinberg is such an underrated school.
My son got injured during recess. He told me some other child had pushed him . Not only did the school fail to notify me but they did NOTHING not even send my child to the nurse or punish the other child since they didn’t see the incident happen itself and my 6 year old passive son didn’t report it . He has a bruise on his a head and some cuts on his hand and when I approached the assistant principal Ms Davis about this she also did nothing about the situation and blames her negligence on “not enough school funding” for safer grounds and not enough school monitors to “watch all the children that she has to take in ” and then also tells me that children “play rough” . its clear this school doesn’t care for the safety of the children . I have watched myself these kids run around on a cement area pushing and shoving each other and non of the adults watching these kids say anything . They have no type of structure or activities for them outdoors . It’s seem they lack the funding for that as well . I will be soon transferring my child to another school. I wouldn’t recommend this school at all it is poorly run and your child could be bullied and the school wouldn’t know since they apparently don’t have enough adults watching them .
I would really love to rate this school with 5 stars however, my child was recently barred from going on a class trip that I paid one hundred dollars for! He had allowed some other students to tag him in a group chat online that involved two girls and the nature was graphic! He was NOT the author of this post and he realized it was bad and deleted it after 10 minutes. I was called in so they could shame him and make him read the post out loud in front of me! Then they gave two days in school suspension. How convenient that some staff principal included ended going on the trip last minute using the money I PAID for my son to go with! Then they actually said if they didn’t come and sit in the school while other students were at the trip. Nope I got him out! Enough is enough. So sad they could get away with taking our money for nothing.
