It was horrible. Due to some of their programs, years 5 and 6 were not given a lunch hour most days a week for a significant part of the year. Instead forced to ride bikes for most of it. If you were a scrawny kid you were distinctly disadvantaged as the sports teacher would make you ride longer. The sports teacher (who’s name starts with M) was outright abusive. We were yelled at for taking brakes. We were also yelled at for taking bathroom breaks during this. He said we would stay hydrated if we held it in. Later learning this is not the case and is in fact not healthy. It was literally his job to know this. He also said he became heavier after going to the gym because muscle weighs more than fat. This is not how physics works you can’t gain mass from nothing. He probably wasn’t accounting for the water he would drink. All this for the RACV HPV challenge. Even if we were not going to be competing we still lost our lunch break.
Who approved and let this abuse happen for so long?
Don’t even get me started on the bullying and lack of action. So many empty promises and so many horrible teachers who look the other way or blame the victim.
They also don’t talk about the hidden fees, lifetime of therapy.
