I was a student at this place. Made the graduation shirt for my fellow peers, I repaired electronics for the staff free in my spare time. I had been a active Member in the boys and girls club and assisted who ever needed my help. I wasn’t allowed to walk nor obtain the very shirt I designed due to absences. My grandfather had passed from liver cancer, my family and I had to of course attend his funeral. Due to this I was placed over the amount of missed days. Prior to it I had to leave early or not even attend due to my disabled Brothers. This all had been explained by my father to the principal miss rita. She refused, knowing all of this, to allow me to walk saying”it’s not fair to other students.” She However allowed unruly students (that actually been arrested on school premises for assault) to walk. There’s a lot wrong with this school besides my statement. Now that I’m in college I’ve been trying to obtain my transcripts but no one ever answers. What if I had been a parent and there was a family emergency? The teachers are awesome. The system is screwed the principal is a heartless woman who does play favorites with students. I highly don’t recommend tossing your child here unless you’re ready to fight tooth and nail over the simplest things.
I attended Wells my entire high school career and I graduated in 2016. While I can confidently say Wells has improved immensely since Principal R has taken over, there is still a long ways to go in terms of preparing students for college and university. I currently attend UW-Madison and though I excelled in many of my classes at Wells without any struggle and minimal studying, I find myself needing tutoring in the same subjects at UW because I was not taught many of the basics of that subject.

The staff at Wells is doing a wonderful job, however, at encouraging students to attend college or university. Just last week I was invited to speak on a panel of other Wells alum and speak about my college experience. Things like that can make a huge difference with the students there.

The staff at the school is wonderful. They’re so willing to help with any issues that come up. Big thanks to Mrs. Rivera. She goes above and beyond for her students and actually cares. Thank you wells staff.
