My family has been a part of Maharishi School for 7 years now and we couldn’t be happier. We feel so lucky to have access to this school, the only of its kind in Australia.
The curriculum is the regular victorian one but with the added bonus of consciousness-based education, meditation and nurturing the whole child.
It is a warm school community and the older children take a lot of pride in caring for the younger ones and setting the tone for what kind of environment they’d like to be a part of.
It is a very relaxed place, absolutely wonderful teachers who are very committed to the school and to the well-being of every child. It is a very logical next step from family life out into community/schooling life because of the size and the focus on every child being a vital member of the school. The children are acknowledged at the end of each year for the individual qualities they possess and how they’re developing.
Each year the graduating year 6’s amaze me in how settled they are in themselves and what wonderful people they have developed into.
Classes are small sizes so that people can progress in their learning and enjoy a settled and focussed atmosphere.
People are stress-free and kind. The staff are passionate about education and creating a place where children can thrive, learn and blossom into themselves through a natural progression. Problems and conflicts are handled with care and are given the time and energy needed to find resolution. My children have had incredible support over the years with anything they’ve needed help with and the challenges natural to each age and stage of development.
I can’t recommend this school highly enough.
It is a great discovery for all who come across it and one that often brings relief!
It took us a while to find this gem of a school, but we are so glad we did. Our child joined in Year 4, and we only know the school under the newer leadership phase. Nonetheless, we are very grateful for the care and conscious based teachings they offer. Our child is a gentle, sensitive individual and has absolutely thrived here. He feels safe, seen, encouraged, and heard. Teacher Sam Russell, who is currently teaching the YR 5/6 class, is an extraordinary human who genuinely creates a solid foundation of security and strength within each child before they enter the next phase of secondary schooling. The conscious-based learning/teaching model is meaningful and so needed in our world!

The school delivers the Victorian curriculum in such a way that it is not only inspiring but also enjoyable. The short meditation practices they undertake at the beginning and end of each day have an incredible impact on many levels, particularly on our child’s nervous system.

Being a small school we thought it might have some drawbacks because of this, however, we have been so pleased with the wonderful friendships that exist across genders and age groups. We implore you to call Suzi in the office for an inspirational conversation about this one-of-a-kind school.

We have been part of the Maharishi School community for over 13 years and have had a wonderful experience. The highly skilled and attentive staff are dedicated to providing a beautiful and supportive learning environment that allows children to become conscious global citizens.
The curriculum is engaging and imaginative, allowing the children to explore their interests and develop their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
We highly recommend the Maharishi School and feel that our children have received a well balanced education, academically, socially & creatively.
My daughter Ava goes to maharishi the teachers are lovely with small classes.
There are less than one hundred kids in the school.
My son is in his 3rd year at Maharishi School and my daughter will be starting prep next year. I can’t speak highly enough for the school, the people (students, teachers & parents) and the philosophy of Consciousness Based Education. It’s a wonderful community that truly cares for one another. The first thing I noticed when I did the school tour was the energy of the place, it’s calming and welcoming. My son is thriving at Maharishi School and have no doubt that my daughter will next year also. The children are treated as individuals and encouraged and supported to be their best by expressing their creativity and passion. They also practice their meditation twice per day which is one of the greatest gifts to give your child.
The teaching staff are incredibly talented, supportive and approachable. It’s the kind of place where everyone is enabled to be their best including the parents. The school runs regular seminars for families on various topics and of course parents also learn and practice Transcendental Meditation at the school.
And, there are so many wonderful opportunities for the children to take part in different activities such as various sports, art, music, chess, choir, cooking, drama etc.
Highly recommend
