I went to holy name and I hated it it gave me suicidal thoughts and anxiety cause of the students and the principle me galea who picked on me every time something had happened in my friend group cause I “started it and did every thing wrong” I’m glad I moved and I’m glad I exited that prison.
Great community, skilled and educated teachers that are extremely helpful. I applaude both Mr. Ling and Ms. Galea. They make a great team and Holy Name was our choice for our kids because of them. Worth a visit if you are considering a primary school for your children.
tuff school went there loved it absoloutely incredible
Our family highly recommend Holy Name Primary School. We’re new to the HNPS community and are extremely satisfied with the support and friendliness of the Teachers and wider school community.
We have children in Grade 5 and Prep and have witnessed the consistency of the School Values from Junior to Senior level.
There are great extra curricular activities/programs open to students; Math Olympiad, G.A.T.E.W.A.Y program, Spelling Bee, Tennis, Musical Instrument lesson, S.T.E.M.
These are some of the few activities my children or their friends have been able to participate in during early 2020 and their friends in 2019.
My child is currently at Holy Name. The school community is friendly and diverse in culture and socio economics. There is a very active parent & friends committee and fathers or maintenance group. The parents organise dinners and outings for kids in the holidays. It gives a nice feeling of connection. The vice principal Derryn is invaluable. He and the principal Caroline regularly walk the grounds during drop off and pick ups, so they are always around if you have concerns to discuss. They emphasise building relationships with the parents. The teachers are warm, friendly and nurturing towards the children, and happy to discuss progress or concerns about your child. The school has just been renovated inside, it looks modern and fresh. The classroom sizes are great for the kids and teaching. The teaching style is a mixture of traditional explicit teaching and then kids working in groups, learning through hands on, collaborating, enquiry and investigation model. They are strong on behavioural expectations, any issues with the kids are quickly sorted out before they escalate. Being a Catholic school there is some focus on prayer, faith, Easter, Xmas ect, but it’s not overbearing or dogmatic. I’m really happy I placed my child here.
