I love this school! My daughter Olivia has been going here since August 2023 and she just turned 4 this year. She had a hard time coming here at first because she had never been in daycare before and never had to follow a strict schedule, but the teachers were all so patient with her and helping ease my anxiety with the transition to a normal school routine. The teachers are all so kind. Even when Olivias hair gets a little messy, she will come home with a fresh braid or fishtail. I can tell they care about their kids. Mrs. Ingram, Ms. Ronda, Mrs. Paige all have taught Olivia so much. I can tell my daughter has more confidence in reading, writing, speech, and social interaction. She loves going to school and telling me everything she did (usually playing zombies and cars) and learned and what craft she made for me that day. Her personality is really shining through her art because she loves to draw and color and work with her hands with play doh and slime, and she is definitely more confident in puzzles, problem solving, and critical thinking. I think it helps that they have a small class sizes to give more personalized attention to each student. The school offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks, but they can modify it for a picky eater like Olivia or you can bring your own. The school provides cots for nap time and the kids just bring their stuffed animal and nap mat to keep at school for the week that they put in their assigned cubby. They also get playtime in the gym and outside just as long as the weather permits. When the solar eclipse was happening, the school was still open and provided the kids a chance to go outside and see it with the special glasses on. Then they had a coloring book/packet talking about what a solar eclipse is. Olivia loved it. Appleseed has open houses so you can see what the kids are learning about and show off their latest creations and they have a recital at the end. Their curriculum is always varied, so the kids are constantly learning new things and every month has a theme. The school has certain goals they strive for, for certain skills depending on your childs age. I never worry about what Olivia is learning at school because they always keep us updated from the Brightwheel app with pictures and messages. They celebrate birthdays for all the kids and make them feel special. From the time i enrolled my daughter, I always had a good feeling from Ms. Barbara Kilpatrick, the owner/director and Ms. Scarlet Franklin, the assistant director. They showed me around even though I didnt have an appointment and gave me all the information I needed. They have cameras on campus so I always feel that its a safe environment and they always have Ms. Scarlet or Ms. Barbara at the front to check in all the kiddos. Appleseed is a great school:) They have no issues with you dropping in unannounced if you are ever worried about your child. The school also communicates well about any issues your child may have whether it be anything from a potty accident to getting any injury from playing around. They really make an effort to make the kids as independent as possible, while teaching them the skills needed to be successful in life. They care about all of their students like they are their own.
My daughter is currently attending Kindergarten at Appleseed Academy. The academics, teachers, and nurturing environment are beyond impressive. The teachers are extraordinary and the reading program is stellar. My daughter is already reading on a 2nd grade level. I will definitely enroll my younger child in Appleseed as well. Thank you Mr. Cameron, Ms. Hannah, Mrs. Cervantes, Mrs. Paige, Scarlet, and Barbara for fostering such a warm and loving environment for the students. I love Appleseed and am so grateful I found this school for my children!
My daughter has been going to this preschool for almost 2 years now. My other 2 older daughters went to a preschool in WA state. I was so sad that my youngest wouldn’t get to go to the same school. Then we discovered Appleseed and my youngest just LOVES it. Everyone is friendly and communicative. My youngest will be moving on next year to public school and we will all miss the smiling faces at Appleseed for sure!!
