Great school, my son went to licking heights west, Hamilton (township) elementary and had many problems with getting schoolwork accomplished. They crammed and crammed until he was ready to give up. Thankfully, we moved right off of James and 70 bc, he got transferred to Scottwood and is doing so much better!! They are graded by 1-3 with three being excellent and this past report card was the most 3s Ive seen!! Not only that, he is showing the results which proves that he isnt just being passed like the other 2 schools, I couldnt grasp how he had issues across the board but was passing to the next grade?!! Instead he is taking it all in and applying it so he is learning it!! This school has eased my worries of having to home school my son and as a working dad that means more money to reward him for his excellent turn-around. The staff is really helpful, most praises to them as well as the students who scared me when I first brought him there because they were so intelligent, smart and kind that I was like “oh no, not another school that forces tons of hard work on their students” but it turns out that they are nothing like that so it makes it easier for the kids to learn, and haven't experienced bullying either for the first time, that seems to happen mostly in schools that rich kids go to but these kids understand when you don't have the best things, they don't judge and I love that!!

Have had issues with the the truth at this school…basically if it’s about the school saving money they will cut off certain funds to kids and I’m talking for a special needs child who really needs the extra time and attention so if your child is a special needs child beware!!!

Myself as well as all 3 of my children went to Scottwood ES…I adore most of my children’s teachers, they really want the children to succeed. But I do not like how the school has been run for the past two years.
