I just have to say I am a current student of CALC in the MA program at the Fairview Heights campus and I really love this school. Though I have not yet completed the program I do know that a lot of the prior students were successfully able to get jobs. CALC offers a great job placement assistance program, they will not get a job for you but will offer you great job leads as well as resume assistance and will keep in contact with you until you are able to secure a job. My particular instructor has been with CALC for 6 years or more and I know the other instructors in the Fairview Heights campus have been there for awhile as well so there is not a high instructor turn over rate. I have about 20 people in my class so classes are fairly small. The staff will work with you and help you with everything from job assistance to tuition/financial aide. CALC is one of the better for-profit schools in the area and I think I will be returning to CALC in a few years to attend the LPN course at the Alton campus.
Very unpleasant experience for me, denied access to tools available to students of caucasian race, asked to work separately from the class, FLAT OUT SEGREGATED!! Also harassed by Fred, denied access to class on midterm day. They even mailed altered tax documents. This all happened because I’m an African American student who questioned her hours being falsely documented. I have a lot of disgusting things recorded, emails, police report and video bc I only felt comfortable with a police escorting me to class(which they still denied access on video)! I’m sure they wouldn’t want the videos featured on the evening news, but I pray someone reaches out for them& they are exposed. Legally it isn’t smart to talk bad, but this was just horrible treatment/service for what they took. They don’t deserve the 1 star
I would give this school 0 stars if possible. I attended this school 08-09 for the billing and coding program and was promised education to back up my certificate unfortunately that wasn’t the case. We had SEVERAL teachers come and go through the year I attended of which knew very little about the program or how to teach it. There were many days the students taught ourselves how to code from the book because the teachers weren’t familiar with ADA coding. I’m now THOUSANDS of dollars on debt, which I am STILL paying for all these years later. I wish this school would of taken ownership in the terrible expierience I received but sadly they gave me less then par education and ran off with my money. Save yourself 20 thousand in debt and attend Another school.
