Not overall a bad place, yet I have this gripe. Homework that needs to be taught to her, takes 3 hours every night. She has no idea how to do what it is the school is asking, so we need to teach her. Very often it just plain makes no sense, as often an explanation for it is missing. They keep sending our Kindegartener home with homework she doesnt understand. She is of course still learning how to write, and they expect her to do a three sentance book report? Multi-column math? Spelling words like “expeditious “?

The other day our 4th grader came home with the following math question, “chimpanzees very rarely live 50 years. If you had four chimpanzees, what would their total age be?” This is nonsense. She asked me how to know how old they actually are if the rarely live to 50? I told her to write, “very rarely over 200”

I am both a parent of children at GCES and have taught here for five years. Gray’s Creek Elementary has a great staff and encourages students to reach their full potential each day. My own children have thrived here and I have their teachers to thank for helping them grow academically, socially and as leaders.
