I started college here in 2015, and graduated in 2017 with an associates in allied health science. I am currently back again, in the process of earning my second degree! This college has a lot of availability for classes that will fit your schedule. The admissions staff are truly caring and willing to help you succeed. The same goes for all of the financial aid staff as well. Both divisions are very competent and willing to help a new student get everything they need to enroll completed in a timely manner. There are several outstanding instructors at Drake as well. Mind you, I was only taught by ones for the area in which I studied, but they really deserve 5 stars! They were always willing to help me study, to help others study and gave clear instructions about what is expected from each student in order to succeed. This is a great college to earn a further education from. The classes are small, which allows more one on one time with instructors. They offer many free resources to better aid in their students success as well. You won’t find either of these things at a university. This college can really help people make a better future for themselves, if the students are willing, so is Drake!
I cannot recommend this school based on my and our son’s experience. My wife and I were involved in the admission process and it was awful. We had to provide the same admission documents multiple times over several months. They continually lost or misplaced them. We had many many calls and visitx to admissions and they very pleasant but didnt seem to know whow to accomplish what we needed. They said everything would be fine and were good for registration. When our son tried to register we couldn’t. The system would not let us. They had to do a last minute override to get him registered. It was all very stressful.

I also cannot recommend the welding program. My son was planning on transferring to another program because he didn’t believe he was getting the necessary training for a number of reasons. The most ridiculous reason was they had run of money for the gas needed to do certain welding.

My son was blessed to get a job welding half way through the semester but as his parents who private paid his tuition we were extremely disappointed in the education he received and the administrative problems.

I have my bachelor’s degree already. However I was wanting to attend here to further my education with certain classes. Admissions 100% ruined any chances of me being here. Some young child who works in admissions was….let’s just say, I wasn’t about to waste my breath on her. Also, they lost my transcript from UNA and I had it sent electronically. How?? Very flakey people and students were trying to leave drake because “they were not learning anything” while I was in admissions trying to get things fixed. WOULD NOT SUGGEST ATTENDING!!!!
