North Whidbey Kids Academy held a special place in my heart for nearly 10 years! I walked through North Whidbey Kids in 2009 with my then 4 year old. Little did I know that he would be reading chapter books to us on his 5th birthday. Ms Tina was the most patient, professional and knowledgeable woman I have ever known. She saw a gift in my child that we as parents never knew possible at such a young age. The same held true when we moved back with our second child. She gave them both a gift of self worth, a gift to make them believe they can conquer anything and made learning fun. Years later, the Navy brought us back to Whidbey, this time with a set of twins. I was blessed to hand those babies off to Ms Tina, she loved and nurtured them as she did the other two. All 4 children started their education with a passion and love for learning! I’m not sure where we would be without Ms Tina! I do know that my now High Schooler, Middle Schooler and 2nd graders are better students because of their early childhood development of North Whidbey Kids Academy!

Once your child becomes part of NWKA, you and your family will forever be a member of Ms.Tina’s tribe. She has a talent for identifying each child’s individual strengths and needs and will provide a tailored education that allows every student to grow and flourish. Both of my two children attended two years of pre-K with Tina. My daughter has since been accepted into an arts conservatory and my son is working on college credits as a high school junior. If you ask either of them who has been their best teacher, they will both say, “Ms.Tina, hands down!” They remember her classroom as a magical place of imagination and also a place where they learned fundamental academic skills. Tina is one of the most honest and descent humans I’ve had the privilege of knowing. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this school.

All three of my children had the opportunity to be students at NWKA while we were stationed in Oak Harbor. My oldest daughter Katie started there when she was 3 1/2 and because of the unique atmosphere and Miss Tina’s ability to let every student learn and grow at their own pace was able to complete her kindergarten and 1st grade curriculum a year early. She entered 2nd grade in the public school at 6 1/2 and was one of the top students in her class! I will always feel blessed that my children had such a strong educational foundation. I truly believe that so much if their academic success has to do with their start at Miss Tina’s!
