I currently go to this school and I’m expected to graduate in 2018. I would NEVER EVER take my kids here. I would rather enroll them in an online school, Trinity Christian School, Village Tech or the life school in Cedar Hill. The teachers are ok, the education is good, and the school is very patriotic, but the kids are SO disrespectful and just want to play around, have an attitude, and argue with the teachers. Granted, it’s not ALL the kids but the majority of them. They are the reason why I hate going to school everyday. It’s really sad because this is the future generation of America and some of these boys have an IQ of a rock, I’m sorry that was rude, but that’s how I feel. Another problem is the district spends SO much on football and not enough on equipment for classes like Robotics, and new computers and software. My Web Technologies teacher said compared to other schools, our computers are SO behind and they can’t run on the programs we need for the class. And we only have one IT guy for the entire school. Seriously?! Oh, and I absolutely HATE how the athletes get special privilege just because their athletes. Like, not everything is about football. But hey, it could be worse, I guess.
I moved here in the middle ’90’s because of my former boss, fell I love with the area and believed in the school district. Everything I listed had not failed me. My son went to one of the elementary school’s here, intermediate, middle, ninth grade center & the HS and is now in college & calls CEDAR HILL home. I’m PROUD to be from this area and to have raised my son here with NO problems.
Parents can say what they want but in any school its our jobs as parents to educate our kids and arm them with the needed tools to succeed.teachers are people everyday people they are not perfect.so stop expecting so much from the schools and do your part to help your kids be great.
